David Botti is currently a freelance journalist based in Cairo, Egypt, specializing in video and print work.

He previously worked as a video journalist in Abu Dhabi, UAE for ‘Inside the National’, a daily news program produced in partnership with The National newspaper.

From 2007-2008 Botti wrote the veterans affairs blog Soldier’s Home for Newsweek.com.  He served as a U.S. Marine in Iraq in 2003.

Botti has also written for The New York Times, The Village Voice, and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. 

His essay ‘The War Within’, published in the New York Times, was anthologized in the book: New York Stories: The Best of the City Section of the New York Times.

He holds a B.A. from Skidmore College, and an M.S. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
