David Botti is a video journalist/online reporter for BBC News based in Washington, DC.


Previously he worked as a freelance video journalist in Cairo, Egypt - which included covering the revolutions in Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya.


Earlier he worked as a video journalist for The National newspaper’s television program in Abu Dhabi.  David also wrote the veterans affairs blog Soldier’s Home for Newsweek.

David’s Iraq war veteran essay for The New York Times was anthologized in: New York Stories: The Best of the City Section of the New York Times.


He served as a U.S. Marine in Iraq in 2003, and attended the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
